Adjusting the Width Farmhouse Fireplace Mantel to Fit
Farmhouse fireplace mantel – Starting with removes the legs and moves them farther apart or closer together. The width of the top of the mantel permits. This is the easiest way to adjust the width of a mantel opening. Remove the legs and trim them vertically to create a larger opening. Trim both sides of the symmetrical legs to keep their uniform appearance. You may be able to carefully trim the inside of the legs without removing them from the mantel.

If the distance between the farmhouse fireplace mantel and the fire is wide, add additional molding to the wall. This casting should repeat the design of the mantel.
This will unify the look of the fireplace. A number of flat casting around the combustion chamber is a good finish for this type of plant. Large a casing with a new peak when the size of the combustion chamber opening is correct, but the overall size of the jacket is too small. Place a board on top of the farmhouse fireplace mantel and add an extra row of trim molding around the edge of the board.
